You mispronounced a word in an important client meeting. And you walked out feeling stupid. Now your mind is screaming \u201cWHY is my English SO BAD?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What to do: <\/strong>

<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1 Remind yourself of all the successful moments from the same business English meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Make a list of everything you\u2019ve done well in English this week, this month or this year. For example: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How many business English emails did you successfully write this week? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How many business English meetings did you do well this month? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How many hours have you spent reading or writing in English, speaking English or listening to English?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Ask yourself: \u201cIn what way is my professional English good?\u201d \u201cHow is it better than this time last year?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Think about all the future professional English meetings. Imagine them going brilliantly. Write down what a successful meeting looks like.

5. When you know what success looks like e.g. confident business English speaking, focus on how to get there. What can you do today to help avoid those embarrassing moments in the future?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
